"Action Fiction" is a Drag on Your Productivity - Are You Making Your Own Office Drama?

Once you raise folks, "How are you?" and they respond with an exasperated "Busy!" do you ever get uninterested in hearing that? Do you recognize people who brag about how busy they are, like it's a badge of honor?
This strikes a chord in my memory of a cartoon I have that shows 2 office employees with coffee cups in hand and one says to the opposite, "Regardless of how busy I'm, I am never too busy to speak concerning how busy I am." More true words were never said...
Let me remind you that being at a consistently frenzied pace isn't something to brag about. It's not a sensible factor, it is a problem. It's not productive.
If you find yourself in this entice, it is a sign that you'll be doing one thing that is keeping you trapped. The great news is that you'll make changes and improve your situation.
Think about it this way. There are people out there, driven professionals, business owners and leaders, who are doing what you are doing or additional and aren't becoming overwhelmed and may even be happy. What's their secret? What is the difference?
The workload is not the culprit. It's how you manage it, how abundant you bite off, how you see the work, how you manage others and how you manage yourself in the process.
If you are consistently feeling behind and overwhelmed, and are sad about it, here are some questionable decisions you've got probably made in the past.

2.) You are procrastinating too much
3.) You are spending too much time on work that doesn't matter (80% of what you are doing each day yields concerning 20% of your results)
4.) You are over-promising what you'll do for yourself or others
5.) You do not have the information required to do bound tasks or comes
6.) You're not delegating enough
7.) You are doing not grasp how or when to mention 'no,' hence over-commitment
If you can build better choices and amendment your thinking, you have got a chance to change your results.
The everyday response to anxiety is action. Action drives out thinking. If you continually do things without thinking, it can create a lot of anxiety and your cycle continues. Then you are trapped in "action fiction." It's like a unhealthy reality TV or a soap opera.
So the next time you discover yourself answering the query of "How are you?" with "busy!" - assume twice. Do you really wish to be THAT busy continuously? Even more importantly, do you would like to be "busy" or "productive," which doesn't need all the drama?
