Advice for Christian Marriages

By: Jason Evans

With Christian marriages in the same shape as those of people outside of the church it could be time to find out what the problem really is. While the christian church has many support groups for separation Christian marriage advice is hard to come by. Perhaps we want to stop putting our focus on stopping marriages to the same gender and put it into holding Christian marriages together.

Strong Christian marriage advice can often come from the podium but that is more rare than anything. Instead the merely advice Christians seem to be getting is coming from secular physiologists and magazines. What happened to biblical marriage advice? Possibly the identical thing happened to Christian marriage advice that happened with Bible study.

I actually think if Christians spent more time in the Bible they could learn how to love their other half. What better manual on love may there be than the one written by the God who shaped love in the first place? Biblical advice is the finest advice your marriage can get.

On that note I would like to offer some marriage advice from the Bible. The Bible says that if the king has something against you it is better to go beforehand him than to run away. That does not sound like marriage advice does it? The lesson we could take from it though is one that may also apply to our marriages.

Far too often couples have something against each other and do not work it out. Instead one spouse will walk away from the other. I learned long ago in my marriage that it is better for my wife to yell at me than for her to not converse to me. In the same way if I ran away from every difficulty and never faced my angered spouse then I would be letting the anger boil over rather than letting it vent.

Sometimes it is better in marriage to take the anger of our spouse if we have done something to annoy them. Being humble beforehand your spouse will curve future anger. Marriage may be much better when there is no hidden anger.

If you truly want to have a strong Christian marriage you are going to need a good quality understanding of the Bible. If just Christians would read the word of God and try to live it out in their marriage. Forgiveness and compassion would be sturdy enough to handle any issue.

God Himself gives us an example of how to love with His relationship with us. Could you imagine your spouse running off and sleeping around? That is what Christians do to God when we turn away from Him and go after Satan. Yet God takes us back. What kind of husband or wife could do that? Simply one that has learned to love as God has.

Christian marriage advice may not come out of the church as much as it should but if you ever want the finest advice your marriage could ever get then open the Bible. It would be even better if both spouses opened the Bible together and learned how to love. They require to know that love is more than an emotion. So to close this article out I simply require to declare once more… the Bible is the greatest Christian marriage advice you will get!
