Baby Tips for New Dads

By: Mike Davis

It is usual for a pregnant mother to keep herself occupied with all things related to her baby. However, for a husband, your obligations are not solely focused on fulfilling her food cravings. Though you consider yourself the best 24-hour 711 who can get anything anywhere and anytime, you can also share her enthusiasm about reading all about those baby tips blogs and books that she has been reading repeatedly. She has a point for doing this, but you realize that it is your baby as well. There will certainly come a time that she, no matter how superwoman she performed by pushing the baby out of her body, will not be strong enough to care for the baby. Fatigue will always take its toll and you can avoid that from happening by being a constant helping hand whenever you are around. Caring for a newborn baby does not always mean a mother breastfeeding or changing diapers -there is so much more to learn. Besides, helping out even in the smallest task is an excellent way to bond with your baby.
You probably have work and you need to rest when you get home. However, you should know that your wife has been at it the whole day. A good tip is that you can rest while you take care of your baby. Let your wife rest while you take you and your baby for a stroll around the neighborhood or just lounge in and listen to some music. As your baby will seem so small and breakable, don't be afraid to hold your baby. If you do not know how to do it, ask someone who knows how to. The trick is to be careful and confident. A baby will need all the human contact it can get, so don't be afraid to shower your baby with all the attention you can give. Here are a few baby tips to get you by: When you are feeding or changing the baby's diapers, don't forget to make eye-contact with your baby. Talk to the baby while you are working. To get your baby to smile, the best way to do it is to smile yourself. Your baby unconsciously mirrors what he or she sees. If your wife is too busy to keep her daily records in her baby journal (or if she does not have one), take lead and be the one to fill in the details that will be necessary during those visits to the doctor -not to mention it would make for great scrapbook material in the future
Once you make a connection with you baby, you will find it hard to stay away! You just might get addicted to the attention your baby will crave from you. Extreme fondness and love will surely burst from you when it does not take just your wife to calm the baby down. Just arm yourself by reading even just the simplest baby tips and you are going to be a super dad on your own!
