Banquet Chairs and Chiavari Chairs for your Special Day

By: Mike Davis

Is there a wedding in the works? Preparations for this special day can really be stressful and the stress even adds up as the occasion draws near! Even though most couples have chosen to hire wedding and event planners to take care of wedding arrangements, couples often would still like to get involved even in the tiniest details such as flowers, the reception men and even the chairs that will be used. Believe it or not, the chairs that your guests will be sitting on at your wedding can make a fashion statement. Lately, more and more wedding and event planners are choosing Chiavari chairs over the customary banquet chairs for special occasions such as weddings, formal banquets and dinners.
Chiavari chairs are those chic and stylish chairs that have bamboo joint details and designs lining the backrest. You can often see these types of chairs being used in wedding scenes in the movies. They can either be made out of wood or metal. Those who would like to pull off the classy look would opt for those chairs made out of high quality wood. The details and lacquer finish of these chairs are just great. The look and finish of those made out of metal are also great but may not be as fine as those chairs made out of wood. There are also those that are made out of plastic resin, which tend to be more durable.
If you look through chair manufacturers and furniture shops online, you will see that these chiavari chairs come in several colors and designs. They can cost around $35 to $70 depending on the design and the material used. Shipping costs vary but are fairly standard for deliveries made within the United States. It may also cost more and take a little longer for your purchases to be delivered if you live in Alaska, Canada or Hawaii.
The more popular colors that are available are silver, white, mahogany and black. Silver has a metallic lacquer finish and can add a magical flare to your wedding. White has a similar effect, especially if you have made arrangements with your florists to create specific arrangements to accentuate the chairs. There are also caterers and florists who would choose to place ribbons of lace and organza so that your chairs will complement table centerpieces and match your wedding's theme or motif.
Banquet chairs on the other hand are those that are traditionally used for these formal occasions. They are fairly plain but they will look just as great especially if you have seat covers to match. Like the Chiavari chairs, they can also be adorned with matching ribbons and flowers.
The seat covers that most caterers use to make these otherwise ordinary chairs can be rented for a little less than $2. However, you can also purchase these seat covers for a little less than $5 online. Deliveries are usually made within three business days after the payments have been made . When it comes to weddings and formal occasions, the banquet chairs are certainly the more affordable alternative to the Chiavari chairs.
