Bright yellow Expensive diamonds.

By: Harry White

Shopping through a number of fashion columns I discovered that multi-colored diamonds are nowadays "In". I was thinking why and when were they "Available"…

Key turned out to be the ancient subject and law of "Supply and Demand"… Most mined diamonds are black or blackish chocolate color. They are used for industrial purposes. Then come the very lightly tinged in yellowish chocolate "colorless" diamonds of low color grading (from K to Z) and the rest are the colorless and next to colorless ones…

Diamonds of extremely intense shade are few. While the diamond product has been designed, so to speak, to be heavily marketed, and while the black was overly familiar and used for the mentioned manufacturing purposes, it was left for the colorless types to bear the brilliant burden. But being rare, has rendered those intensely tinted diamonds ever more distinctive, unique and pricey.

Topping the list of exceptionality and cost are the red, pink and blue. Right next to them, expensive, but at least accessible are the glittering yellows… But, expensive they are, while vivid yellow diamonds are concerned… Tens of 1000's of us dollars per Carat… ) just picture how expensive the almost non-existent reds are).

You might be expected to dish some $25,000 or more for a carat of those sunshine-like sparks.

As I was surfing the web in pursuit for information and resources I came across a very timid web site of very few webpages, residing on a respected domain name… There, at Diamonds.org I learnt that an moral precious stone acquisition choice may be made by opting for lab grown diamonds, the majority of which, if coming from a fair source, will be of superb intense and bright yellow shade. And, most notably, when you locate such a source, you may be expected to dish out a mere $5,000 or $6,000 per Carat and acquire a true, genuine, honest to goodness, nothing-but a diamond of the asked for yellow denomination!!!

Bear in mind that not all yellows are the same. Unless you find a yellow diamond that is at least of an official "Intense", "deep" or "Vivid" categorization or "grading", and it better be by a high-quality laboratory: the GIA, IGI, AGS or EGL. Al "in house grading" ought to be questioned… Discount any "light" "faint" "fancy" for if "go" for any of those you will finish up with a dreadfully pale, almost not discernable, allegedly or really "yellow" stone of very insignificant appeal. Cost might be a guide here as well… As soon as you lay your hand on a "vivid" yellow - you will be dazzled and bedazzled. They are real beauties.

And so will she. But is not she the one you needed to stun and bedazzle?
I surely felt so about my gal, and did amaze her with a 1.20 of a carat man made genuine diamond, a Vivid Yellow one for that modified as a "Vivid Greenish yellow", a golden color diamond with a touch of lime, if you will.
I still can not help peaking at her yellow-diamond-wearing finger and think that I did the right, uncommon, even "In" thing (not that the latter mattered if truth be told)…
