Build Muscle And Burn fat

By: Kris frederiksen

To build muscle and burn fat simultaneously is quite difficult.I’m not saying it can’t be done, but if you are thinking you are going to lose 10lbs. of fat and replace it with 10lbs. of muscle, that’s just not going to happen.
The reason being,to lose fat you need to lower your caloric intake, and to build muscle, you need to increase your calories. Those are two completely different goals.

The more realistic approach is to first lose fat,and then work on building some lean muscle. In fact, building muscle will skyrocket your metabolism, and essentially put your metabolism on 24/7 auto-pilot,which will help you in maintaining your weight once you have reached your weight-loss goals.
So,if you consider losing 10lbs. of fat and a few weeks later gaining 10lbs. of muscle success in your goal to build muscle and burn fat, then that is a goal that is definitely attainable.

However,a lot of people looking to lose weight don’t realize the importance of weight training. This is extremely important to your weight-loss success.Lifting weights burns more calories than just cardio alone.

Why do you think there are so many people at your gym that you see regularly doing hours on end of cardio on the treadmill, bike, etc.,that look exactly the same as they did six months ago, maybe even a year ago?
If you don’t weight train, you are missing out on real progress that you could be making towards your goal to build muscle and burn fat.

When it comes to weight-lifting, you should lift as much as you possibly can because this will ramp your metabolic rate to the highest level. You should be doing anywhere from 6-10 reps to reach the best metabolic effect.

In regards to cardio, you should consider applying sprint training. This will really rev up your workout because of it’s intensity.Next time you are on the treadmill.go as hard as you can for 30 seconds, then go at a more comfortable speed and intensity for 1.5 mins.Keep alternating like this for 20 minutes. This will contribute to a large calorie burn after you have finished your workout, and if you continue this, you will see a significant change to your body in just one month.
