Christian church Growth Assessment

Christian church growth is not an easy thing to assess as there are lots of minor issues involved in it which can not be ignored. Ignoring one such issue can lead to the loss in the membership base. To achieve growth, the church goes through the series of talks and consultations with the members and among the clergy and the management of the christian church to devise the plan which is acceptable to all and has the consent of all. This process alone is a lot of time consuming and can lead to number of meetings without reaching to any conclusion.

It involves finding out whether the christian church is lacking in any significant area or not. The christian church can collect this information by checking and comparing the results of past 3-4 years. Also, talking to different people who are also the members of the christian church and are aware of its working can prove helpful. It is since they are the people who are generally aware of the needs of the christian church and observe the changes. Although they don’t interfere in the working of the christian church or tell their opinion until they are asked to.

The second step involves the visiting and interviewing the people with in the christian church. Such exercise is essential to know the view point of the people and include them in the process of the planning. By doing so, the church can utilize the expertise of various people in making out he growth plans and take suggestions from them on the possible outcomes of the church. Similarly these people can make the individual presentations on the church growth or can continuously help in the presentations of the management. The more the brains, the better the result in this case, since more brainstorming can lead to more ideas and then out of the bunch of ideas, the christian church continuously picks those which they think is best.

The good effects of the church growth are that after that the christian church will be able to see its strengths and weaknesses and in the future can help the in filling its weaknesses. Also, it can see the blind spots in the church and the evaluation results can give the direction for the future movement. By keeping that in mind, the church will always move in the direction which it was ignoring from the long time. Also, it helps in the growth of the church by opening up the vast possibilities to grow.
