Developing A Healthy Self Esteem

Once I think of healthy shallowness, the image that involves my mind is of my friend who has a tremendous personality. His faith and confidence in himself is commendable. He has set himself the target of being the President of a Fortune 500 company. He speaks freely of him ambition. He is very successful in his workplace conjointly ( he delivers at the workplace ). My friend is very successful and terribly seemingly to fulfill his ambition as a result of together with a range of positive factors, he has healthy self esteem. Because of this, he thinks he is terribly capable and is able to set himself high goals and work towards them. High achievers have healthy self esteem. This text focuses on how to DEVELOP healthy self esteem. I use the word 'develop' as a result of we tend to can all learn to have a healthy and high self-esteem. Therefore let's get started.
WHAT IS SELF-ESTEEM: Self worth refers to the mental image an individual has of himself. It refers to what a person thinks of himself, the confidence and satisfaction that a person has in himself.
CAUSES OF LOW SELF-ESTEEM Low vanity could be the results of childhood memories and programming. Low self esteem could set in even in adulthood. Just like high shallowness can be learnt, low self-esteem is additionally learnt. The reasons given for low self-esteem could be many - physical: I am too fat, I'm too thin, I'm ugly etc., mental - I am stupid, emotional - I handle my emotions badly, this person rejected me as a result of I am not good enough, I manage my emotions badly etc, circumstantial - poor background etc. Ridicule by elders and friends, unfavourable comparisons, self comparison with others, unfavourable circumstances - these will cause low self-esteem.
DEVELOPING A HEALTHY AND POSITIVE SELF-ESTEEM
1. LIST YOUR STRENGTHS AND ABILITIES: Make a listing of all of your strengths and abilities. However small, list it. List everything you can do. You are special and you have got a unique package of talents and talents. What comes naturally to you, others may notice arduous to do. Refer to this list often. Keep adding to this list whenever you can. Remind yourself of your strengths and abilities whenever you feel low.
2. POSITIVE SELF TALK: Folks with low self-esteem often cherish negative self talk. This negative self talk ensures that their self-worth remains low. You do not would like your help in pulling you down. Monitor your self talk. Your aim is to change your self talk to positive statements and images. But, if you discover yourself unable to think completely regarding some aspect, then aim for neutral thoughts in that matter. Gradually, strive to maneuver on to positive thoughts on that matter. Achievers routinely talk to themselves positively. They prop themselves up and refuse to target any negative thought that involves their mind. The trick is to focus only on positive thoughts. Ignore the negative ones. Do not follow them up. Do not offer them power over you.
CHANGE THE CAUSE OF NEGATIVE SELF-ESTEEM OR ELSE ACCEPT AND MOVE ON:
The causes of your negative vanity can not flee immediately. You may have to figure on it. Perceive the cause. There are three ways you'll pander to them: either they can be resolved immediately OR they can be resolved at a later stage OR they'll never be resolved, in which case it's best to accept them as they're and move on. Bear in mind the prayer, God, give me the courage to accept what I cannot change. Eg. If a person's negative vanity is linked to his being fat, then either he takes steps to turning into slim currently or accepts his body as given and stops feeling dangerous concerning it. If he cannot or will not want to try to to anything about being fat, then he should stop feeling dangerous about it. He ought to think solely sensible thoughts concerning his body. This can help in removing the mental causes of low self-esteem.
CAPITALIZE YOUR STRENGTHS:
Everybody has shortcomings. The trick is to concentrate on and amplify our strengths. Do not waste your mental power on wondering weaknesses.
SUCCESS LEADS TO SELF ESTEEM:
Thomas Carlyle said: " Nothing builds self-esteem and self-worth like accomplishment." I suppose the sureshot manner to own high self worth is to be successful. If one is successful, he's certain to own high self esteem. Aim for little successes that are easily attainable. Congratulate yourself on your success. Aim for an additional tiny success. Build up a string of successes. Small successes contribute to big success. Always feel smart about your little successes.
ASSOCIATE WITH POSITIVE PEOPLE
Folks who are crammed with enthusiasm for keeps, who speak regarding good things, who boost you up - these are the folks to associate with. Don't go together with essential and morose people. They pull you down.
BE KIND TO YOURSELF:
Be kind to yourself. Forgive your mistakes. Everybody makes mistakes - huge and small. We have a tendency to would not be human if we tend to failed to make mistakes.
