Difference between church marketing and advertising

The church marketing is unique from that of the advertising. The problem begins when the christian church considers marketing and advertising as the synonymous things. The marketing is rather a broader concept and includes advertising, that too at the end levels. The good marketing is the one that solves many of the problems of the christian church before the use of the advertising.

The church marketing is the process that creates the image of the church and sets the goals for it to move ahead and improve upon the weak areas of the christian church. Also, the goals of any marketing plan are at various levels. By this, we mean that of course, there is only one goal of the christian church to enhance the members’ base of the christian church, however this can also be divided into various other goals. For instance, the goal for the church would be to give more one on one time to each member to make his or her journey towards god easy and enjoyable, also the goal of the clergy can be to do an in-depth study and understand the wishes of the god in a better way and to aid the members attain a in depth knowledge of the same and guide them on the path of joy and enrichment.

The church marketing is study of the organization to make it a better place and to help it improve the relations with its members and the neighborhood at huge. The job of the advertising is to be more vocal of these relationships, although it is the marketing that makes sure that the christian church is doing enough for the neighborhood to enhance its brand image and to be seen at all the critical places.

Marketing in such case can include all the organizations, including the participation of the church in the debates on the social and civic issues and also to work for the weaker segments of the community and at times fighting for them to make live in the better conditions. One of the main functions of the christian church is to spread the word of the Christ. Even, here, the marketing team cam aid the christian church by telling it that what more needs to be done to spread the wishes of the Christ to as many people of the community as possible. Also, in such a case, it can help the church know that what is the feedback of the people on getting the messages and whether the christian church is actually proving helpful to people in order to improvise on their lives or not.

Similarly, these are the small ways in which the church marketing team can assist the christian church in achieving its goals by not even touching on the advertising part.

Now, once, the christian church is doing enough, and then comes the job of the advertising to be more vocal in the neighborhood about the achievements of the church and its productive role that it has played in the formation and improvement of the community. Again, to stress on the need of marketing, one can say that if the organization is not doing enough, it can’t go advertising about the achievements. Even if it does, it will prove to be the waste of the money once the people come to the christian church and will find that it is not what they have expected. Hence, the attrition rate will continue to grow in such cases.
