Finding Music Lessons

By: Joe Vecc

As I was a teenager I took drum lessons. A pal of mine took guitar lessons. We used to rehearse our musical intruments a lot during middle school and high school. We used to call one another and ensure to make sure the other was still practicing the drums or practicing the guitar when we would hold one of our practice marathons, which were recurrent. Not only were the practice sessions sustained, they were also normal. But on top of all else, they were worth it. He is able to shred on the guitar and I can play a pretty good groove on the drums.
I used to work out on a range of drumming systems including drum rudiments, syncopated drum beats, learning how to read drum notation all throughout. My drum teacher placed a big emphasis on working the drum rudiments between the hands and feet. Challenging the coordination of the limbs was taught to me at an early age. Bringing me out of my comfort zone was the target in mind with the snycopated drum beats he would notate for me.
Practicing guitar scales all over the guitar neck was what my guitarist friend was all the time doing. He was able to have a discussion about and appreciate music on a music theory and harmony level.
Not only is he a skilled guitarist and I a accomplished drummer, but we have equally also taught music lessons. I have educated countless kids how to play the drums. He has educated scores of people how to play the guitar. If it was not for our industrious practicing and our expert drum teacher and guitar teacher, I don't know we would not have come so far. Back in those years we did not have the internet to download guitar lessons, download drum lessons, or download piano lessons. We used books and magazines made of paper.
