By: Jason Evans

How will you know if your christian church growth strategies are working if you have not gotten ready goals? Your church is not the only one that has a problem with this kind of thing. Just since this Sunday a christian church has more visitors than last Sunday they sometimes believe this is a real sign of growth. This method will not give you a real and clear understanding of how your church is doing.

This is simply because churches, like everything, have their ups and downs and the attendance may not be the same one month to the next. Normally church attendance drops in the summer months and picks up again in the winter. If you have not tracked this trend there is no way to know if you are growing or not.

So naturally your christian churches first step to finding out what goals to all set is going to be to start tracking. Keep a track for this year starting today of how many people visit your christian church and how many members you have or gain. After you have done this for one year you will see what months have lower numbers of people and what months have higher.

Now you want to ready several goals. One thing you need to understand is that goals should never be too high. Your church needs a goal that is reachable and not too hard to get to. You do not want to make it seem like you never reach your goals since this could make the christian church give up.

So what should your goals be? All christian church members start out as a visitor previous to they make the leap and join. With that said you want to look at the number of visitors you have had. You should be trying to get more visitors this month than you had last year during this month. Doing this will bring more people in and at least you will have more people even if they may not become members.

Now you need to get these visitors to change from visitors into full members. To do this look at how many people joined your christian church in the same month last year. Now ready a goal to increase your members just like you tried to increase your visitors. You may be wondering how to do this. There is more than one way. Normally there is more than one thing that needs to happen to get people to change from visitor to member. Do some surveys to find out what you need to do.

Having goals can give you an idea as to what areas your christian church may be lacking in. In other words you will know there is a problem when you see a low amount of visitors turning into members. This is where surveys start to come in handy for your church. Start asking questions. Use this information.

On the other hand you may have a huge conversion however low visits. Your churches outreach should be looked at if this is the case to try and increase your visitors. You need to find out what is keeping people from visiting your christian church.

Your churches growth can be helped by goal setting like this. It gives you a real bar to shoot for. If you have these numbers written down then when the summer drop comes you may find yourself happy instead of sad because you will see that you are actually up from last year.

Make sure you continue this process from year to year. It will assist with church growth in many ways. Having a goal will also keep your people active in promoting the christian church. This is how the enormous churches tend to operate. This is why they are so great. They take time to measure their success.
