Mayan Calendar Easily Explained

So what is going to occur on December 21st 2012 ? According to current day interpretation of the Mayan Calendar, the world is going to terminate on that date since the Mayan Calendar finishes at that stage.
Lets have a simplified glance at the calendar and make an effort and perceive what all the upheaval is about. So to condense at this point, each day in a 52 year cycle had its particular unique name from a mixture of cycles and to keep track of dates on a longer time scale than 52 years, they had what is recognized as the Long Count. Thus, the present Mayan Calendar which started on August 11th 3114, will run its complete Long Cycle to close on December 21st 2012. The Mayan calendar was designed to be cyclical, so the fact that the long count comes to an end in Dec 21st, 2012 while having some worth to the Mayan Civilisation as the ending of a large cycle, it does not suggest that the "earth will come to an end". It's in point of fact true that there are Mayan names for periods of time longer than 13 bactuns (one Long Cycle), so in actuality, their calendar doesn't even end at that point. Even if it did there is no signal to insinuate that they (or anyone for that matter) had particular information about the end of the world.

We are unquestionably in a cycle of disturbance but whether this is the indication to the end of the world is a question of intense conjecture.
One can merely keep an open mind, staying awake and sensitive to what is happening around one’s self. Above all, the important thing is to rely on your own thought processes to steer you through the information, signs, etc and not rely on the media and commercial interests to scare you into believing the worst.
