Attempting to provide more help to the deaf, more devices for the hearing impaired have been exhibited. For the hearing impaired, they can recognize some sounds although their hearing is not as sharp. There were a lot of devices designed for the hearing impaired, only a few of them were ideal for deaf people like the alert systems which used telephones and doorbells.

There is a new device that is responsible for letting motorists know if emergency vehicles are nearby. Currently, a majority of emergency vehicles already come with transmitters strong enough to accommodate signals up to 1800 feet. A motorist who has a receiver in the car is alerted to the presence of the emergency vehicle by a flashing light on the dashboard. People who have limited hearing abilities are not the only ones who can benefit from this device, drivers with the radio on can do so too.

Emergency vehicles do not have to pay for transmitters, the manufacturers are hoping that their private customers would be encouraged to get receivers as a result. Each sale earned a $4 rebate and this is another tactic developed by the manufacturers to influence people to use these. A lot of vehicles were already being equipped with transmitters, and for a car maker if the number of emergency vehicles that had this reached the number he was looking for, then he would make receivers standard features for his vehicles. Part of the offer stated that he would be given exclusive installation rights for the transmitters.

When you saw the paging device, you would not know that it was not a watch. From phones to doorbells to call boxes, these are possible base stations that could activate the pager alerting the wearer through vibrations. Wearers can distinguish one base station from another because each one has a corresponding indicator on the pager.

A set of headphones with a volume control box was only one of several products offered to those who are hearing impaired where the main problem addressed was improving sound quality. When one who is hearing impaired needs to increase the volume on his headsets while watching TV, a device can be connected to the set making this possible, only the volume on the headsets is increased.
