So You Think You Are Giving 100% - Could You Do More?

By: Justine Simard

Most people arrive at a point in their day, week, year or even in their life, when they feel they can’t do any more than they are currently doing. They believe that they've attained their greatest output, they are exploiting all their energy and time, there isn't any more to give, no more juice, this is as much as they can give to attaining what they aim to achieve. They aspire to attain their goal, but within the bounds of their abilities and resources. Fair enough.

There's no more energy. No more time. No more money. No more inspiration.

But then, some event arises where they need more. There's a NEED to do more. There is no more time left, but your child is sick and you have to take the day off to care for them. You haven't any energy, but you have a critical deadline and are driven to sacrifice sleep. You have no capital, but a friend or relative desperately needs your support. So what do you do then? You change your priorities. The time you did not have, the energy that had dried up, and the money that wasn’t there, was manifested. By you.

Everyone has their unique definition of success, and we make decisions every day about where we allocate our time, energy and resources, determined by the things we want to accomplish in relation to our greatest goals, our values and our aspiration to be successful in various areas of our lives. Each hour, we settle on how much we can do for attaining those goals. We decide if we can give 10%, 100% or 110%. We decide on our priorities, and allocate what we have on them.

So listed below are some essential points to assess for yourself:

How do you define your priorities?
Where are your resources going?
Can you produce more resources?

Essentially, are your resources allocated to your priorities? But most significantly, can you generate more resources to serve your goals? I have at times felt that I was giving all I had to serve my objectives. But I discovered that I often could do more. I discovered that I was able to not only improve my resources allocation, but produce more of them! At times when I thought I had no time to keep fit, I got up earlier (revelation, I know!). When I felt that growing my online business was my absolute priority, I remembered that the reason I have this business is to raise my 2 young children at home (and that THEY are my absolute priority). When I believed I was tired, I brought a new focus to my health, adopted some vital changes in my habits and routine, and manufactured more energy for myself. Often, the solution is in shifting your resources to better reflect and serve your priorities.

Do you agree? Can you shift and re-allocate your resources to serve your goals and priorities better? Could you give more to attain your goals through this process? Are you spending energy, money and time on things that simply don’t serve your online business, your personal success, your purpose, your passion? Don't forget to leave me a comment and to share this with your networks!
