Strange of Fleas

By: Dovid Davis

The Life Cycle of the Flea Pest

Fleas are among the very important groups of insect pests because they do not only cause bring on by biting,
but they importantly transmit several illnesses. Cat fleas are seen throughout the United States and the rest of the planet. Adults are about 1/8".
Cat fleas have no wings, and their bodies are compressed in a lateral direction, (side to side). Their color is brown to black.
Female fleas lay 4-8 eggs after every blood meal, All through their total lifetime, they will lay somewhere between 400-500 eggs. Eggs are elliptical, white, and about 1/64" long. The babies generally emerge in 1-12 days. Flea larvae go after natural trash but almost all must have dried fecal blood to be able to complete their development. The larvae do not bite, on the contrary they kill blood which they locate in adult feces. Furthermore, flea larvae require elevated humidity in the atmosphere (45-95º:.)

Adults fleas frequently begin to search for their initial blood meal on the second day after coming out, but they can live for several months on stored body fat.
Once fleas find a host, they are likely to remain on that host, feeding, mating, as well as laying eggs, unless, of course, they are dislodged. Although fleas have a preferred host, they will just as well bite people and can live on using other
species as hosts. Depending on their surrounding environment fleas can survive up to a year. It is essential to remember, that it is
not obligatory to have pets in the building in order to have fleas infesting the home. This is since fleas will habitually fall off their original host subsequent to a huge blood mean. If a flea falls off a preferred host as the host is out-of-doors, then the flea will rest where it fell until it finishes the meal. If a person should hike by the flea, after the flea has ingested the meal, the flea will hop up onto the individual, making the human being its new host. Fleas are able to lay dormant for lengthy durations of time. Consequently if fleas have infested a dwelling and the abode becomes dormant; for example, lets say the the homeowners go on a long vacation or the owner sells the habitat, then the fleas will go inito hibernationi in the locale where they fell off their previous host. Once the last or current family returns to the dwelling, the fleas will be aroused from their hibernation and spring onto their new hosts. They will actually pick up their life cycle from where it left off. For this reason, a family buying a new home cannot assume that because the house has been unoccupied for a long time that there are no fleas.
