The most pleasurable beaches in Florence 2010.

By: Jim Bobbson

Yearly a body called the Federation for Evironmental Education awards Flags to the beaches noted as hygeinic, secure, and have first-class environmental awareness approaches. Tuscany has it's significant portion of Blue Flag awarded beaches, up and down its pristine coastline. A coastline where, in just a few minutes, spectacular Tuscany Villascan be found.

Tuscan expert's Top Choices: Overview
In short, taking Lucca as your first marker, the more down (south) the coast you travel in the Region of Tuscany, the more gorgeous the shores become, and, unless you're in the highest time of year, you'll find less fellow tourists too. These are evidently the beaches that require the greatest time to reach from Firenze, but the differences are notable.

The Coast for the Nightlife
Although at the beaches of Lucca (Forte dei Marmi, Camaiore, Viareggio) you'll find all the amenities typical of a beach resort, you would be disappointed if you were looking for a beach that is an oasis of peace and one-on-one. If you're young and searching for a break by the sea with nighclubs and tapas style bars, Viareggio will not dissapoint.
In Summary: from Florence, excellent amenities and Late night life.

Best Beaches for Small Groups
In comparison, if you're a family group, the shores of Livorno (Antignano, Quercianella, Rosignano, Cecina, Bibbona, Castagneto, San Vincenzo) are a great choice as they can be succinctly reached from Florence (Seventy/90minutes by train) and have lodgings and amenities with focus on family stays.
Summary: 70 minutes/90 minutes from Florence, family oriented.

Formidable Beaches of Beauty
For the foremost beaches, identified here as the combining of the most exquisite countryside with the most clear waters, there is a shared in Florentine's that Grosetto (Follonica, Castiglione della Pescaia, Monte Argentario) always deliver.
Crisp Conclusion: An hour and a half from Florence, reduced services, more beauty.
