Troubles With End Times Prophecy

By: Jason Evans

Any person who has ever studied end times prophecy can tell you that it is very rewarding. It may positively get your blood going. The study of Revelation is often what people go to when trying to do Bible studies on end time. The book of Daniel is also of vast importance to Bible scholars.

With that said there is a sole difficulty that end times prophecy brings. There are so numerous disputations about the interpretation of scripture. It would appear that no one can agree on what the Bible states about key regions of prophecy. One such area is the time of something known as a rapture of the church.

This is a great difficulty cause it causes so numerous people to be confused as to what scripture states. Doing a Bible study on Revelation may be difficult if you are attempting to do your study with the aid of a commentary or some other book. I may say that because after numerous years of study I have found scriptural flaws in most of the teachings available.

Since of that there is merely one real way to get the certainty about what the Bible and the book of Revelation says about end time. You have to throw out everything you have been taught about the books of Revelation and Daniel. After that you have to study them very carefully trying to take in everything in context.

The very first thing you are going to require to do when studying the books of Revelation and Daniel is to ascertain a timeline. This is most easily done by reading the first eleven chapters of Revelation. That is cause it goes in chronological order for the most part. Take care that you do not attempt to apply any teachings to what the scripture is saying. Let the scripture give it’s own interpretation of itself.

By throwing out what you could already believe about the rapture or timeline you could find out what the Bible truly says. Remember that men are flawed and even though numerous people could be teaching one thing it doesn’t mean it is true.

For instance the fourth chapter of Revelation is often disputed in regards to the timeline of the rapture. Cause in this chapter John is told to come up to heaven and see the events of the future some have said that this is when God calls the christian church up. However there is not anything said in the book that would point to this is anything other than God calling John himself up. Remember that you should never try to make scripture say anything that it doesn’t.

As you could see this is the main problem with timestimes Bible studies. If you already have an established hypothesis as to what something means it can damage how you read the scripture. This is cause even when scripture does not interpret itself in the way you can have been taught you could try to make it say something it does not. A study on Revelation and troublestimes Bible prophecy must be made with care that you do not try to fit scripture into what you have been taught but rather let yourself be taught by the Bible.
