I truly love the pleasure of reading a book. From the feel of the paper. the actual written word and most of all the visual imagery that the written words evoke. Why then, would I need to pay attention to a book when the actual reading of the book is one among my hidden pleasures? Initial, let me begin at the beginning. I 1st fell in love with books in seventh grade when Miss Hannum introduced me to Greek mythology. I found that not solely did I scan my assignments however, the complete books that contained the short stories. Since then, I have browse one or two books every week of my life. That's literally plenty of books-I'm nearly sixty three years young. There's simply a special pleasure in the written word. I have read everything from the classics to books on String Theory, spy novels, sci-fi and every issue in between. Then came "books on tape" and at 1st I avoided them. They simply did not have the sensual pleasure of the written word. But, concerning 15 years ago, I found myself commuting an hour and a 0.5 daily to work. It failed to take long on behalf of me to appreciate that industrial radio is little more than mindless pablum crammed with left and right-wing zealots and manner too many sports speak shows. I then started paying attention to the books on tape and over a ten year period listened to some nice literature, listened and studied business management and learned 2 languages-one in all them fluently. I still most well-liked actual reading and after I was home continually was working on reading as abundant as time permitted. That brings me up to concerning five years ago. An impinged nerve in my spine finally got the most effective of me and even when an operation I used to be unable to carry a regular job. At 1st, I believed I might notice solace in reading but, that had also been taken from me. I am on constant pain killer therapy (obviously the surgery failed to go as planned) and am unable to browse a lot of than some lines before blurring and double-vision sets in. That was after I went back to paying attention to audio books. Though I do not relish them as abundant as a real book, it's the sole various that I had. These are my reasons for listening to books. I'm positive that you'll return up with many alternative reasons for listening instead of reading. As far a where to urge audio books, certainly check together with your local library. Several libraries have intensive collections of audio books. Once you run through that collection, you can invariably attend the large bookstores. But, they can be terribly pricey. I currently get most of my books from an web audio bookstore and just download the books to my computer. I will then listen on the computer, burn it to a CD or load it onto my MP3 player. Not only do I not have to travel to the bookstore (I am now not permitted to drive) but, the price of an audio book download is substantially cheaper than shopping for the physical product.
