Work At Home Mums: What It Takes To Be A Mumpreneur.

By: Justine Simard

You may be searching on the web for an opportunity to work from home, and if you’ve been seeking for some time you’ve probably noticed that many opportunities involve starting a home-based business. I thought I would address what it requires to become an entrepreneur or mumpreneur. Whether or not work at home mums own a business or work for someone else from home, working autonomously and remotely often brings the necessity for entrepreneurial attributes.

To be an entrepreneur, work at home mums don’t require a university degree in business, extensive experience in marketing or sales or even business administration. What truly makes an entrepreneur are inner qualities, like character, behaviours and mindset. So if you don’t needexpert knowledge to be an entrepreneur mum, let's take a look at the personal attributes needed to be one. If you're trying to begin a business from home or contract your services, you will want to develop the entrepreneur in you.

Therefore if you would like to understand whether you'll be able to become an entrepreneur and start a lucrative business from home, there are some key questions you can ask yourself:
Do you seeyourself as inspired, ambitious and highly driven?
Do you consider yourself as a self-starter and self-reliant - can you rely on yourself to take control and complete the work? (now I don’t mean you have got to try to to it all by yourself with no support, but you may need to actively and openly take the support and the resources that are available to you…)
Are you coachable? And most importantly, do you want to acquire new skills and knowledge?
Do you hold big goals for yourself and for your business?
Are you determined to attain those targets?
How important is it to you to realise your goals? What will it mean to you to have the opportunity to work from home and achieve your dream income, how will life change, for youand your loved ones?
Do you think you're a person who doesn’t give up and willing to take calculated risks to reach higher outcomes?
Are you greatlyenergetic? Are you hard-working and fully committed?

So if you have answered a resounding yes to most questions or if these questions make you feel fired-up, you might be a great candidate to begin a home business and be extremely successful at it! Ultimately, you have to be teachable, determined to reach results, and prepared to work hard to build and grow your business.

When I firstly established my first business I certainly wasn’t certain about whether or not I really could be thriving as a business owner and mumpreneur, and create my own income, but with a willingness to learn and succeed, and by using the effective systems and resources in place, this has been the most satisfying challenge I have ever taken up.
