Work At Home Mums: What It Takes To Be An Entrepreneur.

By: Justine Simard

You are perhaps looking around on the web for a work from home opportunity, and if you have been looking for some time you have most likely observed that several opportunities involve beginning a business for yourself. I thought I would discuss what it takes to become an entrepreneur or mumpreneur. Whether or not work at home mums own a home-based business or telecommute working for a company, having to work autonomously and independently often brings the necessity for entrepreneurial traits.

To be an entrepreneur mum, work at home mums don’t require a university degree in business, in depth expertise in marketing and sales or even business management. What truly makes an entrepreneur are personal traits, such as personality, behaviours and mindset. So if you don’t needexperience to be an entrepreneur, let's consider the qualities needed to become one. If you are trying to start out a business from home or contract your services, you'll need to develop the mumpreneur in you.

So if you would like to understand whether or not you'll be able to become an entrepreneur and start a successful business from home, here are some questions you can ask yourself:
Do you consideryourself as motivated, determined and highly driven?
Are you a self-starter and self-reliant - can you take charge and complete the work? (now I don’t mean you have got to try to to it all on your own with no help, but you may need to be proactive and openly take the support and the resources that are offered to you…)
Are you coachable? And most importantly, are you eager to learn?
Do you have huge goals for yourself and for your business?
How determined are you to achieve those ambitions?
How important is it to you to achieve your objectives? What will it mean to you to be in a position to work from home and achieve your desired income, what positive changes will it bring to your life, for youand your loved ones?
Are you the kind of person who doesn’t give up and is prepared to take a few calculated risks to obtain better results?
Are you highlyenergetic? Are you a hard-worker and committed?

So if you’ve responded a resounding yes to the above or if these questions bring up the fire in you, you could be a great candidate to start out a home-based business and be extremely successful at it! Ultimately, you have to be teachable, determined to reach results, and willing to work to build and grow your business.

When I started my first home-based business I definitely wasn’t certain about whether or not I really could be successful as a business owner and mumpreneur, and produce my own profits, but with an eagerness to learn and succeed, and by taking full advantage of the effective methods and tools in place, this has been the most satisfying challenge I’ve ever tackled.
