Safaris and luxury may not seem to naturally go together, but there are certainly options for those that want luxury safaris in Tanzania. This can be as simple as luxury accommodations, which are available at some national park lodges in Tanzania. It can also mean a private safari tour experience. Another type of luxury safaris in Tanzania is combining your safari trip with a beach vacation in Zanzibar. Lodge accommodations on safaris in Tanzania can vary to simple tent structures to more modern luxury hotel style accommodations. Research the lodges in the national park(s) you wish to visit to best choose the ones that will give you a luxury feeling experience. If booking with a safari tour company, be sure to read reviews on the company, as some are known for booking people at the lower quality lodges despite saying they are to stay at the luxury lodges in that national park. Depending on the national park some types of luxury amenities you might find at a luxury lodge include swimming pools, gourmet restaurants, and private cabins/lodges. Besides luxury accommodations you can also get luxury safaris in Tanzania that are private safari tours. These are more of a luxury because they can be more expensive than joining a group tour. Having a private tour game drive gives you more flexibility and is also a more exclusive feel. It is especially a great luxury option for romantic safari getaways, such as honeymoons and anniversaries. Private game drives can allow you to experience more of the national parks (or less if you prefer relaxing time at the lodge) and on your schedule (although night drives are not allowed in national parks either way). A final way to make your safari a luxury one is to include some time staying at Tanzania beaches. There are a variety of luxury lodges in the coastal and island regions of Tanzania. A popular beach destination is to stay at a luxury hotel in Zanzibar. It is also possible to stay at a luxury hotel that is located on a private island for the most luxurious beach experience in Tanzania. Luxury beach getaways are a great way to unwind after your luxury (or even non-luxury) safari on mainland Tanzania before returning to your home. It is also nice to do it before you go on safari to have some relaxation between your normal busy life and enjoying your luxury safari vacation.
